HMR held our 7th Annual Property Manager’s Conference June 9th – 11th at the Nantasket Beach Resort in Hull, MA. This year’s concept was “Back to the Future”.
In the movie, Doc and Marty travel to 2015 where futuristic technology includes handheld computers, video conferencing and widescreen wall-mounted TVs , all items that we take for granted now. This year our conference materials and handouts were all provided on HMR issued mini iPads. (In addition to being tech forward, this initiative allowed us to cut down 90% of our paper usage for the conference in line with our commitment to Going Green!)
Our keynote speaker this year was Karen Stacey, the President of Kreative Learning Solutions. Karen’s presentation focused on leadership, communication, team building and personal skills development using the “Everything DISC Workplace Profile”. The DISC profile assessment created a personal report for each of our attendees and provided them with insight about how they prefer to work, their communication preferences, stress generators, and how others may interpret their behaviors.
As Doc explains in the movie: “Your future hasn’t been written yet. Your future is whatever you make it.” This year’s conference gave us all opportunity to embrace new technologies and learn positive ways to impact both our personal and professional development.
